Why I change my phone number every two years — Pastor Emmanuel Iren

Shock as Apostle Emmanuel Iren Exposes the Harsh Reality of Nigeria’s Economic Crisis

Nigerian pastor Pastor Emmanuel Aniefiok Iren, who founded Celebration Church International, recently explained why he changes his phone number every two years.

During a sermon, Pastor Emmanuel Iren shared his reasoning for this practice, revealing that some individuals from his past try to reconnect without a clear purpose, potentially hindering the work of God in his life.

The sermon clip, shared on TikTok by user @williamztv, captured Pastor Iren discussing this issue.

“Some people try to reach out to me, and in trying to reach out to me, they try to commonise what God is doing in my life now because they knew me those days,” he said.

The preacher recounted a specific incident involving a caller from Ikotun Ekpe, whom he hadn’t heard from in a long time.

“True life story. Just randomly o… Called me. That’s how I’ve started changing my number every two years because of things like that,” he explained, laughing.

When Pastor Iren asked the caller if he needed help, the person responded, “I just called so my friends will know I know you.”

Reacting with amusement, the pastor concluded, “Wow! Nice one. Don’t trivialise relationships…”

His comments have sparked discussions online about boundaries, while others describe such a move as prideful.

A social media user, @midalaEI reacted, “So disrespectful. Such behaviour should not be tolerated. And the same people will say it’s arrogance.”

Another user, @GT noted, “On this, I differ o. You lumped too many things together here, Pastor. There is nothing wrong with people reaching out to you for knowing u before now. You will relate to them based on their levels.”

@oyenekanadebisi penned: “What have you become bro? If Jesus had acted that way nobody will have access to him. This is a story for the Gods.”
