Nigerian gospel singer, Big Bolaji dies at 50

Big Bolaji

Big Bolaji, a beloved Nigerian gospel singer and pastor, has passed away at the age of 50.

His family confirmed his death on Easter Saturday after a brief illness.

The statement described him as a “cherished father, husband, brother, and an esteemed figure in both the church community and the Nigerian music industry.”

“Bolaji left us on Easter Saturday, 19th April 2025, after a brief illness. He was not only an ordained Pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) but also a giant in gospel music and a voice of inspiration to many,” the family noted.

Known for his powerful voice and vibrant stage presence, Big Bolaji was a prominent figure in the Nigerian gospel music scene.

He also hosted a radio talk show and was a member of the gospel group J’apha.

Tributes have poured in for him, with fans and fellow artists remembering him as a man of joy, praise, and unwavering faith. Details of his funeral arrangements will be announced soon.
