Legendary musician, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, has confirmed his well-being and dispelled rumors of his death in a video released on Tuesday morning.
Singing in a mixture of English, Yoruba and Pidgin English, he said: “Hello, my name is Professor Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi. Satan, you don lose o, Satan, you don lose o, you don pafuka. Na lie lie you dey talk, you don pafuka.”
The musical performance was then followed up with a statement to members of the public.
He said: “It is fake news that started a few hours ago claiming that I, Evangelist Obey, have passed on to glory.
“It is a lie. I am alive, and that is not the word Jesus has written.”
The 83-year-old put an end to the speculation that began spreading on social media on Monday, with fans already starting to pay tribute to him.
