Brazilian authorities have revealed that they stopped a planned bombing at a Lady Gaga concert on Saturday night.
The Rio de Janeiro Civil Police have a suspect in custody in connection to the attempted attack.
It is reported that unknown individuals were encouraging others to carry out bombings using improvised explosive devices in order to gain attention on social media.
Lady Gaga’s concert, part of her Mayhem tour, was held at the popular Copacabana venue.
She had announced the show on her Instagram a month prior, expressing her excitement to return after a previous cancellation due to injury.
“It’s a great honor to be asked to sing for Rio — for my whole career the fans in Brazil have been part of the lifeblood of the little monsters,” the singer wrote.
