Megan Thee Stallion has dismissed claims that she was “banned” from attending future Met Galas after allegedly violating the no-phone policy at this year’s event.
The rapper, whose real name is Megan Pete, broke the Met Gala’s longstanding no-phone rule during the star-studded gathering at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City earlier this month.
She shared a video on Instagram the same night, featuring herself alongside rapper Doechii and basketball player Angel Reese sampling food at the gala.
“Hottie Cam in thee MET GALA (sic),” she captioned the post.
Speculation soon emerged that co-chair Anna Wintour might remove Megan Thee Stallion from the guest list for the 2026 Met Gala. However, in an interview with People on Tuesday, Megan firmly denied the rumors.
“No. We’re gonna dead these rumours right now, OK? People are like, ‘Oh my God, Megan, you got banned from the Met Gala.’ No, I didn’t, babe. Like that’s not true,” she said.
She also expressed confidence that Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour wouldn’t take issue with her using her phone.
“Y’all made that up and ran with it. They love making (stuff up). Anna loves me, babe. That’s why my phone was out,” the 30-year-old added.
At this year’s event, Megan Thee Stallion adhered to the “The Garden of Time” dress code, wearing a custom white floral lace gown paired with a white faux fur coat by Michael Kors, drawing inspiration from legendary performers Josephine Baker and Eartha Kitt.
