Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central, has submitted a new petition to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and another to the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, accusing the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, and one Dr. Sandra Duru of various criminal activities.

In the petition, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan alleged a criminal conspiracy, defamation, and offenses related to cybercrime.

The petition accuses Akpabio and Duru of leading a malicious smear campaign targeted at Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

According to the petition, Duru initially posed as a supporter under the alias “Prof. Mgbeke,” but later demanded payment in exchange for promoting favorable narratives and digital backing. Upon her refusal, Duru allegedly began a smear campaign.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s legal team stated, “We believe the evidence will show a deliberate campaign to malign and endanger our client through false accusations.”

Additionally, the petition claims that Senator Akpabio had a motive for retaliation after Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan accused him of sexual harassment in February 2025.
