Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has called out a social media user who attempted to shame her for being unmarried.
The Asaba-based star shared a screenshot on her Instagram page of a follower’s harsh comment, which read:
“Old woman, go and marry, mad girl.”
Reacting to the unsolicited remark, Sarah expressed confusion over why some women feel the need to marriage-shame other women. She revealed that the comment came in while she was busy on a movie set, hustling to make her daily income.
“I dey busy on set dey hustle my daily 2k and this comment dropped. I read it and nodded my head,” she wrote.
Out of curiosity, Sarah checked the troll’s page before blocking her and humorously described the person as “ikwikwi in human form” — a term suggesting unattractiveness or lack of grace.
In a message directed at women, Sarah urged her gender to rise above such toxic behaviour:
“Why do women marriage shame women???? … Women, we can do better.”
Her post has sparked mixed reactions online, with many supporting her stance against marriage-shaming and encouraging women to focus on personal growth rather than societal pressure.
