Senator Ireti Kingibe Declares Full Support for ADC Ahead of 2027 Elections

EndBadGovernance: I didn’t sponsor Abuja protest – Kingibe hits back at Wike

Senator Ireti Kingibe, who represents the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in the Nigerian Senate, has reaffirmed her commitment to the coalition of opposition leaders and expressed strong support for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the preferred platform for the 2027 general elections.

Speaking after a strategic meeting with the 37 state and FCT chairmen of the party in Abuja, Senator Kingibe emphasized her alignment with the party’s vision and opposition bloc. She noted that although she has not yet formally received her ADC membership card, her loyalty to the cause is unwavering.

“As a senator, I am fully committed to ADC. However, as the Senator representing the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, I don’t expect you to just hand me a card,” she said, hinting at a principled and process-oriented approach to her membership confirmation.

The ADC was recently adopted by a coalition of opposition leaders as a unified platform to challenge the ruling party in the upcoming 2027 elections.

Senator Kingibe’s alignment with the ADC marks a significant boost for the coalition’s credibility and reach in the nation’s capital.

Also present at the meeting were the 37 ADC chairmen from across Nigeria’s states and the FCT, who collectively reaffirmed their allegiance to the leadership of the party under former Senate President David Mark.

The development signals growing momentum within Nigeria’s opposition camp as preparations intensify for the next electoral cycle.
