Eko Electricity Announces Planned Power Outage Across Lagos from July 28 to August 21, 2025

Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) has announced a scheduled power outage across its network coverage areas, starting Monday, July 28, and continuing through Thursday, August 21, 2025.

The planned outage, which will occur daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, is necessary to enable safe maintenance work on the Omotosho – Ikeja West 330kV power line, in collaboration with the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).

According to an official statement issued on July 25, 2025, the project is expected to cause intermittent outages and load shedding throughout the works.

“To enable works to be safely carried out on the Omotosho – Ikeja West 330kV power line, there will be daily planned outages. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this may cause,” EKEDC said.

The utility company has urged its customers to be patient and understanding during this period, assuring them that the maintenance is vital for improving power stability and reliability in the long term.

Affected Areas: All areas under EKEDC’s network coverage will be impacted by this maintenance exercise.

Customers are advised to plan accordingly and make necessary arrangements to minimize disruption to their daily activities.
