Nigerian Students Can Now Pay International Tuition Fees in Naira via CBN's Form A – Banks Confirm

In a major development for Nigerian students studying abroad, local banks have confirmed that international tuition fees can now be paid directly from Naira accounts through the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) Form A portal.

The update follows improved foreign exchange (FX) liquidity, making it easier for students to access funds for education purposes through the official CBN window.

What Is Form A?

Form A is a CBN-regulated platform that allows Nigerians to process FX payments for eligible services, including school fees, medical bills, and professional training, at the official exchange rate.

GTBank Confirms Naira Payments for Foreign School Fees

In a recent email to customers, Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) announced that the Form A service is now available for both undergraduate and postgraduate international tuition payments.

“Pay international tuition fees directly from your Naira account,” the bank stated.

To access the service, students must:

  • Register at: www.tradesystem.gov.ng

  • Choose Form A application for Educational Fees

  • Select GTBank as the processing bank

  • Upload the required documents

  • Submit their application

This streamlined process is expected to ease the financial stress on Nigerian families and reduce the reliance on black-market FX rates.
