Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (Kogi Central) has completed the six-month suspension handed down by the Senate on March 6, 2025, clearing the way for her return to plenary sessions.
The outspoken lawmaker was barred from legislative duties, denied entry into the National Assembly, and stripped of access to official resources after being accused of breaching Senate rules.
Akpoti-Uduaghan has repeatedly dismissed the suspension as politically motivated, claiming it was linked to her petition accusing Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment.
Her suspension stirred weeks of tension in the chamber, reaching a climax in July when she stormed the National Assembly complex with her lawyers, waving a court judgment she said ordered her recall.
With the suspension now expired, attention is firmly on how her re-entry into the chamber will unfold, particularly given the lingering friction between her and the Senate leadership.
