Dangote Refinery Resumes Sale of Petrol in Naira After Government Intervention

Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE has announced the resumption of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) sales in Naira across the country, just days after suspending local currency transactions.

In a message sent to customers on Saturday and confirmed by Nairametrics, the company attributed the decision to the intervention of the chairman of the Naira-for-Crude Technical Committee.

“Following the intervention of the Naira-for-Crude Technical Committee chairman, we are pleased to inform you of the resumption of PMS sales in Naira commencing immediately,” the statement read.

The refinery added that customers can now place orders in Naira without delay, reinstating the system that had been briefly halted.

The move comes as regulatory authorities and industry stakeholders intensify efforts to stabilize petrol supply and strengthen Naira-based transactions, a development expected to ease concerns among marketers and consumers.
