Fans of the Hey Neighbour Festival will have to wait a little longer for the ultimate block party experience, as organizers have officially cancelled the 2025 edition.
The announcement, made via the festival’s Instagram page, revealed that the decision was taken to allow more time to secure the right artist lineup, funding, and overall setup to deliver an event that embodies the festival’s spirit of community and connection.
Spokesperson Ilen Netshipise explained that the choice, though tough, was necessary. “Our promise has always been to throw the ultimate neighbourhood block party, one that lives up to the incredible loyalty of our Hey Neighbour family.
Rushing the process with current constraints would compromise the very heart of what makes this event special.
This difficult but necessary decision allows us the time to build a solid foundation for a spectacular celebration in 2026. We’re committed to creating a festival worth the wait.”
Organizers also reassured ticket holders that their money and festival plans are secure. All current ticket holders will be contacted directly via email with detailed options, with no deadline to request a refund.
