President Bola Tinubu has condemned the killing of Arise News anchor Somtochukwu Maduagwu and directed security agencies to track down and apprehend those responsible.
The directive was issued in a statement from the State House on Tuesday, which read: “President Tinubu condemns the killing of Arise News anchor Somtochukwu Maduagwu, orders security agencies to apprehend culprits.”
Maduagwu, 29, who was also a lawyer, lost her life in the early hours of Monday during a robbery attack at her residence in Katampe, Abuja.
Arise News confirmed her death in a statement, describing the incident as a devastating loss and urging authorities to conduct a thorough investigation.
The Nigeria Police has already launched an investigation into the killing.
