Pop star Carly Rae Jepsen is officially married. The “Call Me Maybe” hitmaker tied the knot with her longtime partner, music producer Cole MGN (full name Cole Marsden Greif-Neill), in a private ceremony at the Chelsea Hotel in New York City.
The couple exchanged vows in early October, but the wedding was only recently revealed in an exclusive feature by Vogue.
“We knew we wanted a location that meant something to us, and the Chelsea Hotel had become a home away from home every time we were in New York,” Carly Rae Jepsen told the magazine.
For the ceremony, Jepsen stunned in a strapless corseted gown with a draped skirt by Australian designer Toni Maticevski, later changing into an ethereal tiered dress by Danielle Frankel for the reception.
Carly Rae Jepsen explained that comfort and flexibility were part of her outfit choices, as she and her husband were planning to start a family.
“We knew we were trying to get pregnant, so I also wanted an alternative dress that was much more flowy that I could sub in for the ceremony or just change into for dancing,” she said.
The celebration also featured a special musical moment when Rufus Wainwright surprised guests with an a cappella performance of Leonard Cohen’s “Chelsea Hotel #2.”
“This felt like a once-in-a-lifetime New York moment,” Jepsen shared.
Carly Rae Jepsen and Cole MGN announced their engagement on Instagram in September last year. The pair first met three years earlier during a songwriting session.
