Lil Uzi Vert Hit with $110M Copyright Lawsuit Over ‘Just Wanna Rock’

Lil Uzi Vert

Lil Uzi Vert is facing fresh legal troubles after being hit with a $110 million copyright lawsuit alleging that his 2022 hit “Just Wanna Rock” was copied from another artist’s work.

Independent artist Rief Rawyal claims that Uzi’s track bears striking resemblance to his own song “Pain and Pleasure,”released in August 2022 — months before Lil Uzi Vert’s version debuted.

According to court documents, a forensic musicologist found a 93–97% similarity between the two tracks, citing shared tempo, rhythmic patterns, chant structures, and lyrics ending in “rock.” Rawyal also alleges that Atlantic Records executives had direct access to his demos, suggesting a potential link to Uzi’s camp.

He is seeking damages, retroactive publishing credit, and partial ownership of the track.
