Dangote Refinery has called on Nigerians to report any MRS filling station outlets nationwide selling petrol above the announced retail price of N739 per liter.
The company made the appeal in a statement on Sunday, emphasizing that its refined petrol should be sold at N739 per liter at retail outlets, while the gantry price remains N699.
Dangote Refinery also urged other filling station operators to source its petroleum products at the N699 rate to ensure that the benefits of the price reduction are passed on to consumers.
“We also call on other petrol station operators to patronize our products so that the benefits of this price reduction can be passed on to Nigerians across all outlets, ensuring broad-based relief and a more stable downstream market,” the statement said.
This comes after Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Refinery, set the maximum retail price of his petrol at N740 per liter. CREEBHILLS reported that some MRS and other filling stations in Abuja had reduced fuel prices to between N739 and N912 per liter. However, concerns emerged that certain MRS outlets were still charging above the N739 benchmark, prompting the refinery’s call for vigilance and compliance.
