Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has been released from police custody after spending two days in detention.
Ogala was freed on Monday, following her arrest on Saturday evening. She was reportedly taken into custody after calling out popular Lagos-based pastor Chris Okafor on social media, accusing him of allegedly deceiving her with a promise of marriage, among other claims.
Her arrest sparked widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians and social media personalities, including activist VeryDarkMan, calling for her release.
Confirming her freedom, Doris Ogala took to her Instagram page on Monday afternoon to express gratitude to human rights activist and politician Omoyele Sowore, as well as VeryDarkMan, for their support and intervention.
In a brief post, she wrote: “Thank you Sowore. Thanks so much to my ratel king.”
