Tennis legend Venus Williams has officially tied the knot with Andrea Preti, celebrating their union with two separate wedding ceremonies in Italy and the United States.
According to Vogue, the couple first exchanged vows on September 18 in Ischia, Italy. Venus Williams explained that while Italy had always been their dream destination, legal requirements for foreigners made it impractical to complete all paperwork in time, prompting them to plan a second ceremony.
Due to Venus Williams’ Florida roots, the couple later held another wedding in Palm Beach, Florida. The event was organised by Jennifer Zabinski of JZ Events, the same planner behind Serena Williams’ 2017 wedding.
The Florida celebration featured a week-long series of festivities. Venus Williams revealed that her sister, Serena Williams, gifted the couple a private yacht experience, where close family and friends gathered to celebrate with music, food, and dancing.
The wedding week also included a bridal shower and an intimate dinner at the Miami members’ club Sopra. Venus Williams and Preti legally married in a courthouse ceremony on December 19, with Venus wearing a dress designed by Morilee New York.
Describing the moment, Preti said the courthouse wedding was “very unique, emotional, and deep,” calling it the second-best day of his life.
During the main wedding ceremony, Preti walked in with his mother to “I’ll Be There” by The Jackson 5, a song he said symbolised her bond with Venus. Venus made her entrance to “Ovunque Sarai” by Irama, which she said reminded her of her late grandmother.
After exchanging self-written vows, the couple exited to Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” and later shared their first dance to “I Only Have Eyes for You” by The Flamingos.
The celebrations concluded with an after-party at Sophia’s Hobe Sound in Florida, rounding off an intimate and heartfelt wedding experience.
