Fatima Buhari, daughter of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, has alleged that her father’s secretary, Tunde Sabiu, exercised excessive power during the late president’s time in office.
She made the remark in a post shared on her verified X handle in the early hours of Tuesday.
“My father’s former private secretary, Tunde Sabiu, had too much power during Buhari’s presidency,” she said.
Fatima’s statement triggered reactions on social media, with an X user identified as Ahmad Sadeeq criticising her comments. Sadeeq accused Fatima of leveraging the family name for attention.
“You are using Buhari’s family name to chase clout. Allow him and his family to rest abeg,” Sadeeq advised.
CREEBHILLS reports that Tunde Sabiu is a nephew of the late former president, and was known to be very close to him throughout his administration.
He has also been linked to the naira redesign policy implemented ahead of the 2023 general elections, with reports suggesting he played a key role in the initiative.
