Former Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has been named Twente’s new technical director.

Ten Hag’s last job was with Bayer Leverkusen, where he was sacked in September after just three games. The 55-year-old earned a point in his first two matches before being dismissed after the third.

“Returning to FC Twente is wonderful and special for me, I’ve supported the club at Het Diekman since I was a boy. My football and coaching journey began here,” the said.

He started his playing career with Twente in 1989 and finished his playing days at the club in 2002.
