Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has broken her silence following her release from police custody, expressing gratitude to fans, colleagues, and well-wishers who stood by her during her detention.
Shortly after regaining her freedom, the actress shared a message on social media thanking supporters for their love and concern, while promising to address the situation more fully in the coming days.
“I will speak to my fans and families tomorrow!!
God bless each and every one of you who showed me love. You all are amazing.
Thank you.”
Angela’s management also dismissed reports circulating online that she had been re-arrested after her release, describing such claims as false.
The actress’ ordeal drew widespread public attention after she was arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force Cybercrime Centre and transported from Lagos to Abuja. The arrest was linked to allegations of cyberstalking and defamation arising from an online dispute involving fellow actress Mercy Johnson.
A Federal High Court later granted Angela Okorie bail under specific conditions, including the provision and verification of a surety.
Despite reportedly meeting some requirements, she remained in custody at the Suleja Correctional Centre for several days before her eventual release.
Her continued detention after bail was met with reactions across the entertainment industry and on social media, with many fans and colleagues questioning the delay.
Filmmaker Stanley Ontop was among those who publicly raised concerns and called for fairness in the handling of the case.
As reactions continue to trail her release, many supporters are now waiting for Angela Okorie to share her full account of the incident, as promised.
