Reality TV star and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian has opened up about her relationship with her ex-husband, Kanye West, saying the two remain connected for the sake of their children.
Kim and the rapper, who share four children, ended their marriage in 2021 after eight years together, with their divorce finalised in November 2022.
Speaking during an interview with Complex on Thursday, Kim explained that she still maintains contact with Kanye and stressed that their bond as co-parents remains strong.
“We’ll always be family,” she said. “We both know that. We will be OK, and there’s so much love for our family. We want what’s best for our kids.”
The SKIMS founder also addressed a TikTok video she shared in December, where she styled a Yeezy heel — a fashion brand created by Kanye — during a trip to Aspen. Kim said she felt no hesitation in acknowledging the design.
“I couldn’t deny the Yeezy heel, so I had to shout it out,” the 45-year-old explained, praising the shoe’s design and tonal appeal.
In the original clip, Kim Kardashian described Yeezy footwear as unmatched, noting that she appreciates shoes that blend seamlessly with an outfit.
Last year, Kim revealed on The Kardashians that her relationship with Kanye had been emotionally challenging, particularly as she dealt with health concerns including a brain aneurysm and a flare-up of psoriasis, which she attributed partly to stress.
Meanwhile, in January, Kanye West — now known as Ye — issued a public apology for his past antisemitic and racist remarks in a full-page advertisement in The Wall Street Journal. In the statement, he linked some of his past behaviour to injuries from a car accident 25 years ago and his bipolar disorder diagnosis in 2016.
