Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has once again made a heartbreaking public appeal for financial help as she battles severe health challenges and housing instability.

In a tearful video shared online on Tuesday, the actress pleaded with Nigerians to come to her aid, revealing that she urgently needs money to fund multiple surgeries linked to a diagnosed brain tumour.

“I’m tired of begging. I need money. Help me with money so that I can do my surgery. I’ve done my spleen. Please. I beg you in God’s name. I’m ashamed. If I’m ashamed, I’ll die away one day you people will not know,” she said, visibly emotional.

Halima disclosed that beyond her worsening health condition, she has also been evicted from her home and currently has nowhere to go.

“I have just been evicted from my house. I have been diagnosed with a brain tumour. Yesterday, my caretaker came to tell me to leave the house,” she revealed.

The actress first raised the alarm in January, stating that she needed ₦25 million for brain tumour surgery and was already on the brink of homelessness. According to her, the situation has since deteriorated, forcing her to come back online to beg for help despite the shame and emotional toll.

Halima also spoke painfully about her attempts to reach out to influential figures and colleagues, claiming that none has responded to her calls.

“Do they want me to kill myself? From one situation to another, I have packed all my belongings, and I have nowhere to go. I do not want to kill myself,” she said.

Calling out names, she added:
“Yahaya Bello, VDM, Seyi Tinubu, everyone, I need your help. I have nobody. I cannot even reach any celebrities; none of them is answering my calls. I called Don Jazzy, but there was no response.”

She pushed back strongly against claims that she was exaggerating or faking her illness.

“Only a mad person would lie about being sick. It is embarrassing and heartbreaking that people think I am lying. I am coming out publicly to seek help because I have asked people around me and received none. I am ashamed to do this, but it is my only option,” she said.

Halima also revealed that she had exhausted her savings on her late mother’s hernia surgery and later relocated to Abuja in search of medical treatment.

Despite her struggles, there was some relief recently when the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) lifted the indefinite suspension placed on her, clearing her to return to Nollywood. The actress has featured in over 250 films throughout her career.

As her video continues to circulate online, Nigerians are once again confronted with a painful reality — a celebrated actress, battling illness and eviction, crying for help in the full glare of the public.

Whether this renewed plea will finally bring intervention remains to be seen.
