Lilian Afegbai has revealed why she intentionally keeps her relationships away from friends and public conversations, saying experience has taught her to be guarded about her personal life.
Speaking in a recent interview, the actress stated clearly, “I don’t discuss my relationships with friends,” explaining that her decision stems from trust issues shaped by past experiences.
According to her, not everyone needs access to intimate details of a relationship. She noted that over time, she has learned the importance of protecting what matters to her rather than making it a topic of general discussion.
The former Big Brother Africa housemate, who represented Nigeria in the 2014 edition, said maturity and life lessons have influenced her outlook on love and privacy. Since leaving reality TV, she has steadily built a career in Nollywood, working both in front of and behind the camera.
Lilian has featured in films such as Road to Yesterday, The Women, Hotel Labamba, and To Kill a Monkey. In 2018, she produced Bound, which went on to win the Indigenous Movie of the Year category at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.
Over the years, she has openly discussed the challenges she faced in Nollywood and how those experiences shaped her resilience, mindset, and approach to relationships.
For Lilian Afegbai, privacy is not secrecy — it is protection.
