“This Book Woke Me Up” — Annie Macaulay-Idibia Reflects on Love After Split From 2Baba

Annie Macaulay Sparks Speculation with Cryptic Post Amid 2Baba’s New Engagement

Nollywood actress Annie Macaulay-Idibia has shared emotional reflections about her past experiences with love while recommending a new book to her followers.

In a heartfelt Instagram post on Wednesday, the actress revealed that reading The Crowded Bed & The Empty Throne forced her to confront parts of herself she had long shielded.

“Some books inspire you. This one confronts you. I didn’t just read The Crowded Bed & The Empty Throne… I met parts of myself I had been protecting for a long time,” she wrote.

“For Any Woman Who Confused Love With Survival”

Annie described the book as particularly meaningful for women who have struggled in relationships.

“This book is for any woman who has ever confused love with survival.
For any woman who has ever stayed too long because her heart was loyal.
For any woman who has ever needed permission to choose herself without guilt.”

According to her, the book does not condemn readers but instead awakens them to deeper self-awareness.

“It doesn’t shame you. It wakes you up. And when you wake up, your standards stop negotiating,” she added.

She further encouraged followers to support the author, @lightofeolles, and urged readers not to dismiss the book’s impact if it resonates with them.

A Message After Public Separation

Her reflective post comes months after singer 2Baba publicly announced their separation and the filing of divorce proceedings. The couple, who married in 2012, share two daughters.

Since the separation became public, Annie has reverted to using her maiden name, Annie Macaulay, across her social media platforms — a move many observers see as symbolic of a personal reset.

While she did not directly reference her former marriage in the post, the themes of self-worth, awakening, and choosing oneself have sparked conversations among fans who view her message through the lens of her highly publicized relationship journey.

For many followers, the actress’ words signal a chapter of reflection, growth, and redefinition — one where love is no longer equated with endurance but with conscious choice.
