I don’t listen to abusers – Zara Larsson reveals she blocked Chris Brown on Spotify

Zara Larsson

Swedish pop star Zara Larsson has sparked backlash from fans of Chris Brown after comments she made in a recent interview.

Zara Larsson, currently promoting her fifth studio album Midnight Sun, appeared on Cheap Shots, a web segment by Cosmopolitan, where she discussed career highlights, future plans, and her views on separating artists from their personal lives.

During the segment, the “Can’t Tame Her” hitmaker stated that she blocks certain artists on Spotify due to allegations of abuse. She added that listeners would not find any Chris Brown songs on her playlists.

“There are so many artists I have blocked on Spotify, and all of them are abusers. You certainly wouldn’t find a Chris Brown song [on a playlist of mine],” she revealed.

Her remarks, widely interpreted as a reference to Brown’s 2009 felony assault case involving then-girlfriend Rihanna, quickly drew criticism from Brown’s fan base, commonly known as #TeamBreezy. Many fans took to social media to defend the R&B singer and criticise Larsson’s comments.

As of the time of reporting, neither Chris Brown nor Zara Larsson has issued a further public response regarding the online reaction.
