Selena Gomez misplaced vows five days before wedding

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco

Music producer Benny Blanco has revealed that his wife, Selena Gomez, misplaced her handwritten wedding vows just days before their ceremony.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday night, Blanco shared that the vows were missing for nearly four days before he found them “right before the wedding” in September last year.

“(The vows were missing) for like, four days. And I found them, right before the wedding! They were handwritten,” he said, joking that discovering the vows made him look like a hero.

“But how good is it? It made me look so good. It was like the best thing I could have done. I’m about to marry her and then I find the thing? She was crying because she couldn’t find (them).”

Blanco insisted he did not read the vows before returning them to Selena Gomez.

“I closed my eyes and handed them to her. I swear! I swear I didn’t look,” he added.

The producer appeared on the show alongside his longtime friend Lil Dicky (Dave Burd) to promote their new podcast, Friends Keep Secrets.

Burd, who officiated the wedding, revealed he had to revise part of his speech because Selena Gomez planned to reference certain moments in her vows.

Blanco recalled, “She said (on the phone), ‘Hey, just make sure Dave doesn’t say anything about this part or this part because it’s part of my speech.’ And that was the whole opening three minutes of his speech.”

Burd quipped, “I wanted to push back, but it was her wedding.”

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco began dating in 2023 and got engaged in December 2024. The couple tied the knot in California on 27 September.
