“Fuel Was ₦600 Then, Now It’s Over ₦1,000” — VeryDarkMan Criticises Government Over Rising Petrol Prices

EFCC Remands Verydarkman Over Alleged Cybercrime Offences Pending Investigation

Social media activist VeryDarkMan has reacted to the continued rise in fuel prices in Nigeria, expressing frustration over the country’s economic situation.

In a recent video shared online, the outspoken commentator revisited a clip he posted in 2023, in which he complained that petrol was selling for more than ₦600 per litre at the time.

Reflecting on the current situation, he noted that fuel prices have now exceeded ₦1,000, describing the increase as shocking.

“Look at my 2023 video where I was complaining about fuel at over ₦600. Today, fuel is above ₦1,000,” he said.

VeryDarkMan also criticised the government’s handling of the fuel subsidy, suggesting that the policy has been poorly managed.

“We know the Nigerian government will mismanage the fuel subsidy, they’re just looking for ways to steal more,” he stated.

Beyond fuel prices, the activist said the rising cost of petrol reflects broader challenges facing the country.

According to him, several sectors are struggling, pointing to recurring doctor strikes and the state of public schools as examples.

“Everything is falling apart, doctors go on strike, public schools are failing, and the situation is worse than before,” he added.

His remarks have sparked discussions online, with many Nigerians sharing their experiences about the rising cost of living and the impact of fuel price increases on everyday life.
