Nigerian actress and content creator Kiekie has stressed the importance of maintaining clear boundaries between personal life and public persona.
Speaking at The Creative Blueprint 2.0, Kiekie, whose real name is Bukunmi Adeaga Ilori, explained how she deliberately separates her private life from her brand as a comic entertainer.
“I have created a very thick line between what is personal to me as Oluwabukunmi Adeaga Ilori and what is personal to my brand as Kiekie. What are the elements of my brand? Event and TV host, actor, content creator. What is my content? Comic,” she said.
The media personality revealed that her husband, Tunji Ilori, does not feature in her content, noting that “he is not funny.”
She, however, includes her daughter Nola in some of her social media content, describing her as naturally suited for the camera, but maintained that there are strict limits to such appearances. According to her, she only creates content with her daughter during school breaks.
Kiekie also cautioned fellow creators against excessive exposure, particularly when it involves family members, warning that overdoing viral moments can become counterproductive.
“We overmilk viral moments until it becomes annoying. And that is where oversharing comes in,” she added.
