Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi is set to headline the voice cast of the upcoming animated science fiction series Secrets of the Multiverse.
The series follows two children who accidentally enter a multiverse and must navigate dangerous worlds while facing choices that test their courage and morality.
Production company Hot Ticket Productions confirmed that Adesua will voice Iyabo, one of the central characters.
Actress Jessica Edwards will take on dual roles as both hero and villain, while other voice talents include Akorede Bobo, Korede Lawal, Fiyin Asenuga, Maryam Ibrahim Yarkasa, and Emmanuella Amidu, who also wrote the screenplay.
Executive producer Blessing Amidu described the project as more than just an adventure story.
“It’s a world of danger that challenges not just their survival, but their sense of morality. The kids must stop an extinction-level event from destroying everything they hold dear,” she said.
The 13-episode series is a spin-off of Lady Buckit & the Motley Mopsters, widely regarded as Nigeria’s first full-length animated feature film, which earned international recognition, including Best Animated Feature at the Africa Movie Academy Awards.
For Emmanuella Amidu, the story is deeply personal. She revealed that she began writing the screenplay as a teenager while studying abroad as a way to stay connected to her Nigerian identity.
“I wrote Secrets of the Multiverse to remind me of who I am back home, all the things I’ve experienced, all the things I’ve learned,” she said.
The series is co-directed by Adebisi Adetayo and Hollywood animation veteran Robert Sledge, blending local storytelling with global production experience.
Production is currently ongoing, with the first part expected to premiere on streaming platforms in 2026, followed by a second part in early 2027.
