Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi has welcomed twin sons with his wife, Mariam Ogunwusi.
The revered monarch announced the twins’ birth in a social media post on Friday, expressing gratitude to God for their safe delivery.
“To God be all the glory and adoration for His wondrous works and abundant blessings once again,” the statement read.
“Warmest congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and to Olori Mariam Ajibola on the joyous arrival of twin princes to the royal throne of Oduduwa today.”
The palace also confirmed that both mother and babies are in good health.
The newborn princes are the latest addition to the royal household of the Ooni.
The monarch already has twins, Prince Obalabi and Princess Ademilokan, born to Tobi Phillips in 2024.
He also has Prince Tadenikawo, born to his former wife Naomi Silekunola in 2020, as well as Princess Adeola from an earlier relationship.
Following the end of his marriage to Naomi Silekunola in 2021, the Ooni married multiple wives in 2022, including Mariam Anako, Opeoluwa Akinmuda, Tobi Phillips, Ashley Adegoke, Ronke Ademiluyi, and Temitope Adesegun.
The Ooni of Ife remains one of Nigeria’s most prominent traditional rulers and is widely regarded as a leading symbol of Yoruba culture and heritage through the historic House of Oduduwa.
