Megan Thee Stallion Scores Another Court Victory as Judge Rejects Blogger Milagro Gramz's Appeal Bid

Grammy-winning rapper Megan Thee Stallion has secured another legal win in her ongoing defamation battle with blogger Milagro Gramz, after a U.S. federal judge refused to pause a $75,000 judgment awarded in the singer’s favour.

The latest ruling marks another setback for the blogger, whose request to delay payment while pursuing an appeal was dismissed by the court.

According to newly released court documents, U.S. District Judge Cecilia M. Altonaga ruled that Milagro Gramz, whose real name is Milagro Cooper, failed to provide sufficient legal grounds to justify putting the judgment on hold.

The court held that Cooper did not demonstrate she was likely to succeed on appeal, a key requirement for suspending the financial penalty.

In the ruling, Judge Altonaga wrote:

“Defendant merely argues that her appeal concerns significant issues regarding post-trial rulings, the reinstatement of the defamation verdict, and other issues, without explaining why those matters are likely to resolve in her favor.”

The judge added:

“Defendant offers merely generalized disagreement with the jury’s verdict and the Court’s post-trial rulings—which is not a showing that she is likely to succeed on appeal.”

The lawsuit originated from Megan Thee Stallion’s claims that Milagro Gramz knowingly participated in a campaign to spread false and defamatory statements about her following the 2020 shooting involving rapper Tory Lanez.

Megan argued that the blogger amplified misinformation about the incident, causing significant damage to her reputation and emotional well-being.

A jury ultimately found Cooper liable for defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress, ordering her to pay $75,000 in damages.

In seeking to delay payment, Cooper argued that enforcing the judgment immediately would cause her undue financial hardship while her appeal remained pending.

However, the court rejected that argument, ruling that the judgment will remain enforceable unless a higher court overturns the verdict.

Although the blogger is reportedly continuing with her appeal, the latest decision means she remains legally responsible for satisfying the judgment in the meantime.

As of the time of writing, Megan Thee Stallion has not publicly commented on the court’s latest decision.

The ruling represents another legal victory for the rapper in a case that has attracted significant public attention, particularly because of its connection to the highly publicized aftermath of the Tory Lanez shooting.

With Cooper’s appeal still expected to proceed, the legal battle may not be over—but for now, the judgment remains firmly in Megan Thee Stallion’s favour.
