Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has shared a blunt message about relationships, cautioning women against marrying men they are solely responsible for financially.
The actress made the remarks in a post on her social media page, in which she suggested that relationships built on one-sided financial support often face serious challenges.
According to Nkechi, trying to hide or ignore financial imbalance in a relationship does not guarantee a successful marriage.
She wrote:
“Never think marrying a man you are clearly feeding will last, no matter how much you tend to cover it up.”
The actress further argued that when a financially dependent partner becomes complacent or develops an inflated sense of pride despite contributing little to the relationship, it creates an unhealthy dynamic.
In her words:
“E no go ever end well… if you come jam the one wey lazy still get dirty smelling pride join? Your own don finish.”
Sparks conversation online
Nkechi’s comments have since generated mixed reactions on social media.
While some users agreed that financial responsibility should be shared in a relationship, others argued that circumstances can change over time and that either partner may temporarily become the primary provider.
The actress has often used her social media platforms to share candid opinions on relationships, marriage and personal growth, with many of her posts frequently sparking debate among fans.
