Getting Started on How to Make Liquid Soap in Nigeria

So let’s get started on how to make liquid soap in Nigeria, first of all, you would need certain items and ingredients.

These ingredients aren’t exactly hard to get, so you might be surprised that you already have some of them.

They include:

• Hand Gloves
• Measuring bowls
• Bottles
• Chemicals
• Water
• Spoon

The chemicals are the major ingredients you would be needing and they consist of Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Nitrosol, Caustic Soda, Texapon, Sulphonic Acid, Soda Ash, and Sodium Tripolyphosphate. Perfume and Coloring can be added, but those are optional.

Making the Liquid Soap

 If you’ve got the items and ingredients ready, the first chemical you would be dealing with is Caustic Soda.

Soften it up by adding water into it and leave it for at least one hour (overnight is preferable). The next chemical is the Soda Ash; soften that too with water and leave for a while (again, overnight is preferable).

Pour out some Sulphonic Acid into a bowl, and then add your Texapon. At this point, if you’re going to use perfume, you can add it. Add water to the mixture and stir well for at least ten minutes.

The next two chemicals that have to soften are Sodium Laureth Sulfate and Sodium Tripolyphosphate.

Soften them the same way you would soften the Caustic Soda, then add Nitrosol to softened Sodium Tripolyphosphate.

You would now start mixing the softened chemicals one by one, starting with the softened caustic soda, then soda ash, Sodium Laurate Sulphate, Sodium Tripolyphosphate, in that order.

When you have one giant bowl of the chemical mix, it is time to add lots of water; adding water at this point is at your own discretion, based on how liquid you want the end product to be.

I would recommend that you let the chemical mix sit for about 24 hours before putting water; it helps the overall quality of the soap when it’s finished.
