As for celebrities who cosplay, they range from acclaimed movie actors to low-key TV stars. Below are some celebs who have embraced the art of cosplay and killed it.
1. Bryan Cranston
The beloved father of Malcolm in the Middle and portraying as the chemistry-teacher-turned-drug-lord Walter White in the hit series Breaking Bad, Bryan Cranston is well known in both mainstream media and Comic-Con fans.
He also dabbles in cosplay every now and then.
In fact, they attended events and cast parties portraying with his fellow Breaking Bad cast member, Aaron Paul. They regularly cosplay each other.
But their greatest cosplay hit was when they attended the San Diego Comic-Con a couple of years back when a cosplayer walked on stage in a life-like Walter White costume only to reveal Cranston himself.
2. Jamie Lee Curtis
Jamie Lee Curtis’ career is riddled with awards and nominations for her numerous work across film and television.
She is well-known for the cult classic “Trading Places” for which she received a BAFTA Best Supporting Actress award. What many people don’t know is that Jamie Lee Curtis also dabbles in cosplay here and now.
Though not a regular cosplayer, the times that she does come in character is truly memorable.
She once attended the Hollywood premiere for the film adaptation of World of Warcraft dressed head-to-toe as an Orc Queen much to the delight of both attendees and fans who started chanting “Leeroy Jenkins!”
3. Adam Savage
Any Mythbusters fan knows who Adam Savage is. His work on the hit television show propelled him to fame and prominence, along with his fellow cast members.
regarded as the king of celebrity cosplay with his outlandish and often unrecognizable transformations. He has his industrial design background to thank for his reputation in the cosplaying world.
He is so good at his cosplay creations that attendees of the San Diego Comic-Con don’t even know that they are in the presence of Adam Savage at the event. It’s only until he posts pictures on his social media that fans realize they were interacting with the man himself.
4. Lindsay Lohan
The “Mean Girl” actress has a lot in common with the infamous comic book villain, Harleen Quinzel.
They both have run-ins with the law, both sport a bad-girl image, and both girls are not shy about being in the public eye. Seeing as Harley Quinn is currently one of the most cosplayed characters right now, it’s only a matter of time before Lindsay transforms into her fictional alter ego.
5. Olivia Munn
There is no female celebrity who simply adores cosplay as much as Olivia Munn.
The closest might be the supermodel Heidi Klum who always goes all-in with her Halloween costumes.
But Munn embraces the geeky side of cosplay by dressing up as beloved characters in both comic book and film adaptations. She dressed up as Chun Li for a video, a look she totally rocked.
