Former Chelsea forward Didier Drogba has announced his divorce with his wife, Lalla, whom he has been with for the past 20 years.
Didier Drogba who is regarded as one of the best players to have ever graced the football pitch in Africa took to his official Instagram account to share the news with fans and followers.
According to the Ivorian, they both decided to make the difficult decision last year and both parties are more focused on their children and protecting the family privacies.
He added that they are still close friends.
Didier Drogba wrote on his page:
I don’t normally discuss my private life, but due to false speculations today I will confirm that sadly after 20 years of marriage Lalla and I made the difficult decision to separate last year. We remain very close and our main focus has been our children and protecting them and the family’s privacy.
