#Amazon CEO DaveClark recently announced the company will be making some major changes to its policies in an effort to become “Earth’s best employer and Earth’s safest place to work”. One of the biggest adjustments will be made to the company’s drug-testing policy.
According to a blog post on the company’s website, Amazon is making a move to no longer test employees for marijuana use for any position that does not require staff to operate a vehicle.
The company also announced that it will be supporting The Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement Act of 2021, which aims to legalize marijuana, expunge criminal records and invest money into impacted communities.

“We will no longer include marijuana in our comprehensive drug screening program for any positions not regulated by the Department of Transportation, and will instead treat it the same as alcohol use,” the company announced. “We will continue to do impairment checks on the job and will test for all drugs and alcohol after any incident.
