Simone Biles Withdraws from final Tokyo Olympics Team

Simone Biles has been dominating every gymnastics mat she’s set foot on, she will not be competing in the last competition with team USA at the Tokyo Olympics.

According to ESPN, Simone returned to the floor with her leg wrapped after landing her vault and has withdrawn from the final team competition.

A team USA coach mentioned Simone is going through something “mentally”.

Team USA gymnastics released an official statement on Twitter.

“Simone has withdrawn from the team final competition due to a medical issue. She will be assessed daily to determine medical clearance for future competitions,” the statement by USA Gymnastics sent to AFP said.

The four-time gold medallist at the 2016 Rio Games qualified for all six finals available to her.

Previously on Monday,  the 24-year-old said in an Instagram post she sometimes feels like she has “the weight of the world” on her shoulders.
