The Nigeria Athletics Federation has been in the mud for some days now since the news of the Federation boycotting the Deal they had with PUMA by going ahead to use another sports brand for its athletes at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics 2020.

According to the latest reports by Senator Shehu Sani, the $2.7 Million kits were freely donated to Nigeria by PUMA and an offer of financial reward to our medal wining Athletics, which was rejected by Our officials; They instead used Public funds to purchase from other sources, And now the embarrassment in Tokyo”.

Consequently, PUMA has terminated its four year contract with Nigeria over the embarrassing scandal that has pitched the AFN officials against Nigeria’s ministry of youth and sports due to the $2.7 million kits sponsorship.

Recall also, some days ago, before Nigerian Female Athlete, Blessing Okagbara got suspended from the Olympics for testing positive for Hormonal Growth supplements, she had taken to her social media page to blast the Nigerian Athletics Federation, saying the only thing they were concerned about was them fighting over the PUMA Contract (Read full Details here).
