Wayne Rooney Turned Down Everton FC Managerial Position

Wayne Rooney turned down the chance to talk to Everton about the manager job, according to the latest reports.

“Everton approached my agent and asked me to interview for the job. Turned down. I believe I will be a Premier League manager and am ready for that 100%. But I have a job at Derby.”.

Rafa Benitez was fired by Everton after 200 days in charge with a brutal 40-word statement that offered no thanks to the manager whose appointment was always contentious with fans.

The Spaniard never overcame his successful association with Liverpool, whose stadium is only a mile (1.6 kilometers) from Goodison Park across Stanley Park, and his position became increasingly untenable as Everton sunk closer to the relegation zone.
