The actress, 49, abruptly dropped out of the third Magic Mike film and is rumored to be going through a divorce from her husband, 52-year-old Ol Parker, with whom she shares three children.
The actress from Half of a Yellow Sun has been advised to undergo counseling, and her team is seeking to enlist her help amid fears that she is in “poor shape.”
After three decades, Thandiwe is alleged to have fired her UK agent.
Thandiwe was embroiled in a fight with her co-star Channing Tatum on the set of Magic Mike’s Last Dance, according to reports. Salma Hayek, 55, was then brought in to take her place.
She “made the painful decision to step away from the production to deal with family problems,” according to Warner Bros.
“Thandiwe had been acting unusual on set, she had been really highly strung,” a source informed PageSix in the United States.
They went on to say that her actions were inappropriate “She caused so much havoc that it was evident she couldn’t play the part. In her personal life, she has a lot going on.
“Her marriage to her spouse has ended. She appeared to be so anxious that she brought her two pet rabbits with her to her hotel for emotional support.
“She sacked her three-decade-long UK agency, and her US agent, Gaby Morgerman, jetted in from Los Angeles to attempt to defuse the situation.”
Ol Parker is best known for directing Mamma Mia! in 2018. Thandiwe Newton married in 1998, and Here We Go Again.
Ripley, 21, and Nico, 17, are their daughters, while Booker Jombe, 8, is their son.
