Wayne Rooney Turned Down Everton FC Managerial Position

Following a 1-0 loss to Queens Park Rangers, Wayne Rooney‘s Derby County has been relegated from the Championship.

The Rams needed a positive result away at QPR to keep their Championship status, but Luke Amos’ 88th-minute goal was enough to send them to League One from the Championship.

After going into administration early in the season, Derby County received a 12-point reduction. They have docked nine points again on November 16 for violating EFL accounting rules. As a result, they were docked 21 points, a deficit that saw them relegated.

They would have finished 17th in the Championship with 52 points if not for the deduction. They are now ranked 23rd with 31 points. They have been relegated with only three games remaining and a 10-point deficit to Reading in 21st position.

Derby enter League One despite a record of 13 wins and 13 draws, a record that would have kept them out of the relegation zone had they not been struck with that massive points deduction.

Since being demoted from the Premier League in 2007-08, Derby had been in the Championship.
