Cristiano Ronaldo is the Premier League Player of the Month for the second time this season

Manchester United 3-2 Tottenham: Ronaldo hits stunning hat-trick

Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United has been voted Player of the Month for April, giving him a total of two monthly titles this season.

The 37-year-old has now earned Player of the Month six times, surpassing Wayne Rooney’s previous record of five.

Ronaldo was particularly outstanding in April, scoring five goals in just four games for the Red Devils.

In that same month, he scored his 100th Premier League goal in a 3-1 loss to Arsenal, as well as his 50th club hat-trick in a 3-2 victory over Norwich City.

Ronaldo also equalized for a 1-1 draw with Chelsea, his fifth goal of the month.

The latest accolade brings the Portuguese international within one of Tottenham striker Harry Kane and former Manchester City player Sergio Aguero’s Premier League record of seven.

Nathan Collins, Kevin De Bruyne, Bruno Guimaraes, Gabriel Jesus, Son Heung-min, Thiago Alcântara, and Leandro Trossard were among the eight players on the shortlist.
