Tems, the first female Afrobeats singer from Nigeria to win a BET Award, has written a heartfelt ode to all of her senior female colleagues in the music business.
The singer who made history on Sunday night at the BET Awards by being the first female singer from Nigeria to win an international act award wrote a blog post in honor of female singers.
Taking to Twitter, Tems thanked several people for their existence, including Tiwa Savage, Asa, Omawumi, Waje, Yemi Alade, Simi, Niniola, Ayra Starr, and Temi.
She noted how their decision to get up and do something made her inspired.

Tems revealed that anytime she sees them gracing the stage, she feels that’s it is her.
From her side, loves lives and she can’t wait till they move like a Tsunami.
“I’m taking today to appreciate all the sisters today. Thank you for existing, thank you for deciding to get up and do something because someone saw that and became inspired by it.
When I see anyone of you gracing a stage, I feel like that’s me. We’re all winning and we’re about to move in like a Tsunami. So before it starts, know that Love lives on this side. As we show the world how it’s done.
And if I missed any messages it is definitely unintentional I don’t take your kind words and support for granted. Sending you all love today because you deserve it. Love always”.
The singer who keeps making Nigerians proud bagged two awards at the award event which was held on Sunday, June 26th.
Adding to her feathers, 27-year-old Tems also took home the award for Best Collaboration from Wizkid’s song “Essence” which features her and Justin Bieber.
