Leading Afrobeats musician Michael Adebayo Olayinka, better known by his stage name Ruger, is a performer and songwriter under Blown Boy Entertainment. Ruger was previously signed to Jonzing World Entertainment.
In 2021, after being revealed as the newest signee of Jonzing World, he rose to fame on the national stage. On March 4, 2021, he released “Pandemic,” his self-titled debut EP.
On November 26th, 2021, he published his follow-up EP, The Second Wave. In June 2022, he released The Second Wave Deluxe, his third music album. Rema and Ozedikus are housed in Jonzing World, connected to Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records.

Early Life
Michael Adebayo, aka Ruger (born September 23, 1999, 26 years old) in Lagos State, Nigeria, and was raised there. He is of Nigerian descent.
He graduated from prominent primary and secondary institutions in Lagos with his First School Leaving Certificate and West African School Certificate. Michael Adebayo Olayinka is a first-year student at one of the top universities in southwest Nigeria.
Career
Like many other Nigerian musicians, his musical career began in the church choir. Since his family loved music, it wasn’t surprising that he was interested in it even as a child.
During school, he participated in his school’s musical band and had already started writing and singing songs at sporting events and plays in Lagos.
In 2020, He met seasoned Nigerian artist D’Prince, who took an interest in him after hearing some of his tracks. D’Prince then began preparing him to become a skilled musician.
D’Prince, Rema, and Don Jazzy announced his record agreement and welcomed him to the Jonzing World family on social media on January 18, 2021, bringing him into the public eye.
His following on various social media platforms significantly expanded soon after the announcement as fans eagerly anticipated what he would offer and whether he would surpass Rema, who had been signed two years before, in popularity.
He made his music debut on the label’s track “One Shirt,” which featured D’Prince, Rema, and Ruger, on January 20, 2021. Following the release of “One Shirt,” Ruger dropped his first music project, “Pandemic,” a six-track EP.
The EP’s lead single, “Bounce,” became a hit and spent weeks in the top 100 on Apple Music Nigeria. It peaked at number one on several Nigerian music charts at the time of its release.
