Martin Short and Steve Martin are celebrating their individual Emmy nominations for “Just Murders in the Building,” with both actors receiving nods in the Lead Actor – Comedy Series category. The show also received a nod for Outstanding Comedy Series.
Regardless, the hilarious comedians expressed their disappointment in Selena Gomez’s lack of an acting role to the New York Times, which led to her receiving a scolding.
“We’re excited at the designations, for us as well as for the show,” said Martin.
“We’re frightened that Selena was not assigned in light of the fact that she’s so significant to our exhibitions, truly,” he added.
Short ringed in to remind that Gomez got a selection, as “a leader maker,” prior to breaking into a little schtick.
“Steve, how about we do our joke from the show. Hello, Steve, the number of Emmys do you have once more?” joked Short.
“Goodness, I need to say five. [pause] Well, I need to say five, yet I have one,” kidded Martin. “If I somehow happened to win, I would be doing great. Since that would be a long time since my last success.”
Short then, at that point, conveyed the zinger. “Well, I’d prefer not to see what you resemble when you get your third success. I’ve won two times.”
