French Police Opens Investigation on Pogba’s Blackmail Claim

The French police have started investigating the claims by French footballer and Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba that his childhood friends and his brother were conspiring to blackmail him and swindle him of a staggering 11 million pounds.

Pogba’s allegation came shortly after his brother Matthias posted a weird video online in Italian, English, Spanish and French, promising to reveal ‘great details’ about his brother.

A statement signed by his lawyers, his mother Yeo Moriba and current agent Rafaela Pimenta said that the videos published on Saturday night “are unfortunately no surprise”.

The family further stated that they are in addition to threats and extortion attempts by an organised gang against Paul Pogba, read the statement.

“The competent bodies in Italy and France were informed a month ago and there will be no further comments in relation to the ongoing investigation.”

Family feuds are not uncommon among footballers, Emmanuel Adebayor, Victor Osimehn and Emmanuel Eboue have all had messy issues concerning their relatives in the past.
