Victor Osuagwu a Nollywood actor, married his longtime love Roseline 19 years ago.
However, he only married her last year in the bride’s hometown of Choba, Port-Harcourt, amid surprise.
The couple’s marriage resulted in four children: two boys and two girls.
Their first child will turn 15 years old next month. Osuagwu, who is currently the chairman of the Lagos chapter of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, describes his wife as a replica of what he desired in life.
He reveals that trust and understanding have been his marriage’s pillars.
“In the latter part of 1990, I met my wife. I was a student at the University of Port-Harcourt. She was a 17-year-old girl in her JSS 3 class back then. When I first met her, I told her right away that I was going to marry her. And that I had no desire to be in a relationship with a boyfriend or a relationship with a girlfriend. I later let her mature. But we became close after she was admitted to the UNIPORT. She completed a certificate program in theatre arts before enrolling in a degree program. We’ve become good friends since then. In 2002, we made our marriage official.”, Victor says.
“I saw a lot of things in Nollywood, but nothing could have stopped me from marrying her because she has everything that a man looks for in a woman. So, why bother looking around? Furthermore, I was committed to my relationship with her. I was treating her as a wife, not a girlfriend. There was no way I could have entered another relationship that I knew I couldn’t turn into a marriage.”, he added.
