Harry Kane, a star player for Tottenham Hotspur and England, has emphasized that his country should be happy of its final game result before the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The Three Lions and previous world champion Germany drew 3-3 to close the match. Germany midfielder Ilkay Gundogan converted a penalty and Kai Havertz fired a rocket into England’s goal to put Germany up 2-0 in the second half.
However, Man United defender Luke Shaw made the scoreline 2-1 before Mason Mount equalized. England looked safe to win the game after Harry Kane made it 3-2 only for Kai Havertz to equalize for the Germans.
But Kane has praised his teammates, saying that hat they should be proud of the result following their recent poor performance.
“I am proud of the boys and now we have a busy six weeks or so before we get ready for the World Cup,” Kane said.
“It was a lot better. I thought we played really well, we were unfortunate to go 2-0 behind, it was a mistake and then a great goal from the edge of the box.
“We did really well to stay in the game, to get back into it, get into the lead, and then unfortunately another error. The mentality and fight of the team were out there. We didn’t get the win but we can be proud of what we did and it puts us in a good place ahead of the World Cup.”
